Life Planning

Wills, enduring powers of attorney, trusts and relationship property — a specific plan for your particular situation.

Life planning is the paperwork most people put off — wills, enduring powers of attorney, trusts and relationship property. It isn’t anyone’s idea of a fun weekend, but it’s what gives you peace of mind and makes things far simpler for the people you leave behind.

We take the time to understand you, your family and your situation, then build a plan that actually fits — not a template a robot spat out. That might be a straightforward will, a power of attorney so someone can act if you can’t, a family trust to protect what you’ve built, or a relationship property agreement handled with care.

We help individuals and families across Wellington, Porirua and the Hutt Valley, and we guide the awkward conversations so the documents actually get signed — which is the part that counts.

What's included

How we help with life planning.

Wills & powers of attorney

Clarity on what happens if you die or lose capacity. We guide the awkward conversation so they actually get signed.

Relationship property

Pre-nups are more common than people think. We guide a delicate conversation to keep it fair to everyone.

Family trusts

Protect your wealth from the '3 Ds' — death, disaster, divorce — with a properly formed and managed trust.

Estate planning

Documentation that's fit for purpose, so a mismanaged trust doesn't lead to disputes and lost wealth.

Common questions

Good to know.

Why not just use an online will template?
A will is more than a form — the value is in a good lawyer asking the right questions about your family, assets and intentions, so it does what you actually want and holds up when it matters.
What’s an enduring power of attorney, and do I need one?
It lets someone you choose make decisions for you if you lose capacity — through illness or injury. Most people set one up alongside their will; it’s inexpensive and saves a lot of stress later.
Do I need a family trust?
Not everyone does. We’ll give you a straight read on whether a trust earns its keep for your situation, rather than selling you one by default.
